IAC announces the beginning of our Workforce Development Program!
Based on a growing number of our clients seeking employment, the Indo-American Center’s Workforce Development Program is a new program with a comprehensive approach focused on guiding our clients toward job placement. As a component of our Adult Literacy and Computer Education Programs, this program will educate our clients with career-based English-language learning, computer literacy, transferrable job skills, and job-readiness skills, as well as assist in internship placements.
After much planning and the recent hiring of our Workforce Development Coordinator, Tanvi Shah, IAC's Workforce Development Program started its first round of classes on February 6, 2012! The program is in its early stages, and Level 3 classes are currently being offered Tuesdays-Thursdays from 2:00-4:00pm. Level 3 classes focus on resume writing, job searching techniques and interview skills to help our clients be prepared and educated while seeking employment.
The Workforce Development Program is IAC's ninth main program. This program will be offering four levels of classes, as well as workshops to increase employability among our clients.
Enrollment for this program is currently open. Please visit the Workforce Development Program page for more information and to get registered!
