The Indo-American Heritage Museum

 

The Indo-American Heritage Museum (IAHM) is a community-based and inclusive institution, a place where visitors can better understand and experience the rich cultural heritage, fascinating immigrant history and important contemporary developments that shape the lives of millions of Americans of Indian origin.

The IAHM Ethnic Dialogue program offers visitors of all ages a memorable experience. It includes presentations about the immigrant community and its culture to school and university students and other interested visitors. Among its resources are rich array of artifacts, photographs and publications that tell the Indian American immigrant story.

 

ETHNIC DIALOGUE & DEVON AVENUE TOURS

The IAHM Ethnic Dialogue program offers visitors of all ages a memorable experience. Exchange ideas with Indian immigrants and learn first hand about diversity in the ethnic community
Visit shops to explore items from the daily life and culture of the community
Enjoy Indian cuisine in restaurants on Devon Avenue

Programs are tailored to your interest and are held at the Indo-American Center, 6328 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60659, Monday and Wednesday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Stores open at 11 a.m.

To schedule a visit, please email info@iahmuseum.org. Be sure to tell us about your group's interests and/or grade level, the number of persons, and three possible dates.

Tours are available Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Shops open at 11 a.m.

For more than 35 visitors, tours are available only on Friday.
